For those of you who do not know, my family and I temporarily relocated to Memphis, Tennessee in order to be with relatives and for our daughter to attend the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf. Even though it is only a 5 month adventure, we still need to have all of the baby essentials. Packing for this was NOT fun. Three kids, three seasons, and 5 months worth of clothes (with a baby who is out growing sizes every month).

It’s fine, we’re fiiiiiiine, the clothes got packed, but my main concern was making my parent’s house feel like HOME for the kids. Change and adjustments are hard for everybody, but especially when you are a small child or a baby who just do not understand exactly what is going on or why things are suddenly so different. (Awww man- I just got a swooping guilty feeling rush over me. Mom guilt is so real but I hope the family and I can look back at this time later and understand how crucial and important it was for us to be here.)

When we first arrived in Tennessee, it was already chaos but HOLY COW, it was on a whole new level when we realized we didn’t have anywhere safe to put the baby down. Chasing around two fighting toddlers with a small baby in your arms is on my list of least favorite things to do now. This put ordering our favorite Fisher-Price gear from home at the top of our list of things to do, so I wanted to share three of the ESSENTIALS that we truly realized we can not live without during this season of transition. *The items mentioned are part of a gifted collaboration with Fisher-Price but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I want to note that I have separately purchased the Snugapuppy Cradle N Swing and the Deluxe Kick ‘n Play Piano Gym in the past prior to this collaboration and have been a long-time Fisher Price lover!

This swing has been our holy grail item for all three of our babies. Honestly, family members had gifted us swings that were 3x the price of this one, and without fail the Snugamonkey Cradle N’ Swing is the only one that the babies actually enjoyed and looked relaxed in. There are so many speed and sound adjustments (Ronan likes this monkey  on full speed. I think he’s going to be an adrenaline junkie like his daddy) and I love that I can change the direction of the swing with a simple press of the button. I have no idea how I would get anything done in a day without this swing. Even as I sit here writing this blog post, he is smiling happily at me from the cradle of that swing!

  1. Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick ‘n Play Piano Gym

Another favorite of all of our kiddos, this play mat is super engaging and great for lay and play activities and tummy time (and as baby gets older, its awesome for sit and play activities and the piano even detaches so you can take it on-the-go). The piano lights up and has three different stages of learning content. I particularly enjoy the animal play songs and find the singer’s voice so sweet! You guys- Ronan is already starting to bat at the dangling toys with his hands and I feel like he is just growing so fast!!

  1. Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker

Oh where do I even start with this treasure? First of all, I have no earthly idea how I would get dinner on the table if it weren’t for this infant seat. My parent’s home where we are staying is NOT open concept and I can not leave Ronan alone in any room with his sisters (they love him to death, but they don’t exactly understand their own strength when they are playing with him). This light chair makes it easy for me to set Ronan down in the house wherever I am— for instance, in the kitchen cooking— and he loves to chill in the seat and play with the dangling toys. This seat has an added bonus though- the toy bar can be removed, the seat can be inclined or reclined, and it converts to a toddler rocking chair! The girls love it when we are watching movies! *Just like the pad on the piano activity mat, the seat cushion is completely machine washable!

My family is truly grateful for these Fisher-Price items and I can not imagine what the adjustment would look like here without them. I will be sharing another post of our packing essentials soon in hopes that these can help another family in a stage of transition!
